Well hello! You’ve found my 31 days page! If you don’t know what 31 days is, check out the whole thing on the The Nesting Place.
Basically I’m going to be blogging, every day, for the whole month of October all about graphic design for food bloggers! Because I’m both, and I my worlds mix often, I wanted to give all the other food bloggers out there some tips, tricks and help when it comes to the design of their site, colors, using text on images and even ideas for photography composition.
I’m a graduate of the OSU graphic design program, I’m a freelance graphic designer and business owner, and I’ve been blogging for about 10 years. While my blogs have changed, shifted and evolved, I’ve created a digital home for my writing and recipes at Sugar Pickles and I’m here to stay! To learn more about me, please see my About page.
So let’s use the month of October to learn about design, food blogging and make the internet a pretty place to be!
I think these visual concepts are best explained using a lot of visual examples, so you are going to see that from me in this course, especially examples drawn from the food blogging world. I know we all read other blogs, and we look to other blogs for inspiration so I thought it would be a great place to see some great design examples and be inspired by other great writers and recipe creators out there. Not to say that we should ever try to totally emulate or copy what another blogger is doing! Just look to them for ideas, and then create your own look with your voice!
We are going to learn all about the fundamentals of design, how they apply to food blogs, and how to put it all in use for your own blog.
